Get To Know Me
I am here to create an environment of safety, acceptance, and no judgments. Your past does not define you, and you can find freedom to live in the present and find hope in your future. No matter where you've been, what you've done, how long you've done it, or who you've done it with, you are capable of healing. I will believe in you when no one else does. I promote healthy change while meeting you where you are to walk alongside you in your own personal journey. I emphasize a holistic approach focusing on mind, body, and spirit as interactive forces. I use a variety of therapeutic modalities to find which approach best fits with you. Together we will discover your next step to take towards healing. I respect and honor your unique needs and never take a one-size-fits-all approach. Your complex shape won't allow you to be put in a box. We will face life as a team - through the pain, the joys, the laughter and the tears. I am here for you so you don't have to bear it all on your own.
"We must not allow other people's limited perceptions to define us." - Virginia Satir
My travels and international experiences doing clinical work in East Africa have given me a passion for cross-cultural counseling. I have extensive experience (here in Orange County as well as cross-cultural counseling experience in Kenya) working with those who have walked through traumatic life experiences, those living with HIV/AIDS, those struggling with addiction/substance abuse, and college students struggling with identity issues and self-harm behaviors. In addition to being a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and Professional Clinical Counselor Intern, I am a Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor.
I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University, and my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (although I do not discriminate and accept Trojans and Bruins alike).
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Therapy is often seen as a last resort. Most come into therapy feeling defeated, when in reality choosing to take back control of your life is the first powerful step towards personal growth. I specialize in getting to the deeper causes to promote long-term healing, rather than just treating the symptoms for short-term benefits. Deciding to just take the next step instead of looking at the next mountain will lead you to overcoming the peaks of your past that initially looked so overwhelming and daunting, simply by walking with me one step at a time. Don’t wait until tomorrow to find your healing from yesterday. Each day has the potential to be a step forward in your journey towards transformational healing.
